Phase III Site Remediation

A Phase III Site Remediation is commonly conducted when results of a Phase II ESA show levels of contamination above state acceptance. It can be the removal of pollution or contaminants from soil and water (ground water and surface water). It is important to remove the contamination for the protection of human health and to restore the environment. Remediation restores brownfield sites either for redevelopment or to return them to their natural state. Sites that have been used to dispose of hazardous waste present a unique challenge to clean up.
